Production Supervisor / Leading Hand

We are looking for a skilled production supervisor to lead our production team and ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility based in Canterbury. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with experience in food production and strong organisational skills.

​

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the production process, from preparation to packaging and distribution, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

• Managing a production staff of 10-20, including production schedules.

• Collaborate with the operations manager and suppliers to maintain a consistent flow of ingredients and production materials.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team.

• Adapt to changing production demands particularly during busy periods
   

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor in the food / meat industry.

• Strong organisational and leadership skills.

• To be hands-on, working side-by-side with the production team.

• Knowledge of food safety standards, regulations & quality control processes.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities to address production challenges.

• Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and suppliers.

• Ability to work and run production through high-demand events such as Easter, Christmas and New Years, etc (excluding public holidays)
